We are looking for a couple to join The Brook House Inn team . The positions would suit fluent English speakers with previous experience, the jobs are seasonal – through to November – and live in is available.

We are looking for an enthusiastic COOK/CHEF who is genuinely interested in food. The successful candidate should ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are prepared consistently to the required standard and presentation.

We have a relatively small menu, but most things are prepared in-house.


We want a passionate, enthusiastic, friendly, hard-working team member to join us!

In summer we have a busy bar, focusing on food but with real ales and malt whiskies, some knowledge in these areas would be helpful

Our location is remote and attracts, walkers, campers and those with a love of the outdoors. An interest in the this area would be an advantage.

The right candidate will enjoy offering our customers the best possible service in a friendly relaxed manner.

Below is a bit more information on the jobs


Tasks involve all aspects of bar service including the tending and serving of real ales and keeping the cellar in a clean and orderly condition. Some hours a week may also be allocated to kitchen duties including cold food preparation (salads, sandwiches, sweets), assisting the chef with starters, sweets and veg prep waiting-on at breakfast, lunch and dinner, clearing of glasses and empty plates, washing up, cleaning certain areas, answering the telephone and some reception duties (such as taking accommodation bookings and dinner reservations). There may also be housekeeping duties to cover staff holidays/sickness.

The kitchen position will include preparing meals from breakfast, lunch and dinner, keeping the kitchen clean, accounting for allergies and general food hygiene, working well with other members of the kitchen team.

 Tips are pooled and shared by all staff on a pro rata basis according to the number of hours worked.. Accommodation is available for this appointment, in a room in the main building. A deduction of £40 per person is made to live-in. This includes meals, wi-fi access, electricity, council tax and use of the laundry facilities.
