The bar is the hub of Brook House Inn, many people comment on how it is comfortable and welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. Food is served all day along with well kept real ales, 180 malt whiskies and an excellent wine list. We have been in the Good Beer Guide for the last 7 years and have an RAC dining award.
In the Summer we have up to 7 real ales all lovingly cared for by our team. During the day we serve a selection of meals from the evening menu along side sandwiches on homemade bread and various salads. We use local Cumbrian farms and butchers for our steaks etc and get great seafood from the Northwest and Scotland.
Children are welcome in the bar until 9pm, although the snug area may be more suited. Tables may only be booked in the bar throughout the day and for early dining until 8pm, after which we work on a waiting list basis. We look forward to welcoming you sometime soon. Cheers
Beer is very close to our hearts at Brook House. We like to think that we treat this wonderful liquid with the respect it deserves. We keep 6 or 7 real ales through the summer and at holiday times, dropping to 3 in the winter. Our session beer and the one that the locals drink is Cumbria Legendary Ales Langdale, this is a lovely golden ale at 4.0% and is, like most of our beers brewed locally in Cumbria. Hawkshead have served us well over the years and Windermere pale is my tipple of preference. Another favourite is Yates Brewery at West Newton which brew extremely good ale with Bitter, IPA or another brew found on the bar at Brook House most of the time. Barngates find there way onto the bar regularly with their excellent Goodhews Dry Stout
