North West region Golden Ale
On the 29th December 2011 a tasting was held at Brook House Inn. A select? panel of judges codgitated over 8 beers before deciding which should be put forward as the area entry to the Great British Beer Festival- which is held annually south of Birmingham somewhere. (apparently they have nearly as many beers as the Boot Beer Festival!) Cumbria was represented by 3 fine beers with the others from Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The Marble beers of which there were three put on a fine show but were pipped to the top spot by Cumbria Legendary Ales' Langdale, a truly deserved winner and on our bar all the time.
Boot Beer Festival 6th-9th June 2013
Boot Beer Festival is a great event for all the family, ride up on the la'al Ratty railway, visit Brook House Inn and sample a beer or two then wonder up to The Boot Inn, where non drinkers could visit the working watermill and the Kids can enjoy themselves at the Boot Inn play area. Next take the path upto the Woolpack and sample the delightful beers available at one of the most remote pubs in the Lake District. A short walk down the road brings you back to the station.
Brook House Inn will have 10 beers available at any one time over the festival with 35-40 in total, this year there will be 3 real ciders, perries and several strong ales at over 6%. The festival kicks off on the Thursday 6th June with a Curry Night and a local live band at Brook House Inn.
